Tar Heel Basketball and Cousins!

Scott LOVES Tar Heel basketball which is perfect for Daddy! He is now at the age where he enjoys cheering our Heels on! Ahh, the Gilliam bonding has begun!

Ginger and Lee went to the Carolina game today and left us with this crazy girl! Anna and Scott are having a BLAST playing with their cousin! We are excited for Nannie and Grandad to move to Chapel Hill because we will all be playing together much more! Cousins are so fun...especially when it is Sallie.

Even more exciting, Walker, John and Sallie are going to be living in Chapel Hill this Summer for 5 weeks! The cousins will get to play so much and they can not be more thrilled. Family is cool..huh?

Silver Spoons from Good friends.

Anna was rummaging in my silverware drawer yesterday and found her gorgeous babyspoon! She ran up to me and asked if she could help cook and stir the stuffed shells with this special spoon. I looked at it and was reminded that Courtney Lammers Hemmer gave Anna that special spoon. I remember the day that it came in the mail. We love this spoon and Anna now uses it to stir our dinners, eat yogurt, pick up beads..you name it! Thank you Court for this cherished item that will now be beaten up because it has been found and will be used daily.

Getting our baking and reading on!

Since we do not have many committments anymore..things are beginning to wind down so we are taking advantage of the down time! Today Anna helped me make stuffed shells! First she had to make a "list" of everything that we needed. As you can see, she picked the prime spot in the kitchen that is oh so safe. When I had Scott I never thought I would let my children sit on the coutner to do crafts or to play. Well, then I had Anna...and things just didn't stay as strict. Please note - No one was hurt during this cooking session.

After cooking class, Anna and I headed to story time up the hill in the Village. I felt like a great mom today..cooking then story time. WOW... I am good at this!

Fun Fun Fun in the Alley with friends!

We always have fun with our wonderful neighbors. We are so lucky to be surrounded by so many amazing friends! Today was bubble day! The weather was gorgeous and it felt like a true bubble day! We chased, ran, popped and laughed. All in all, a success!

I feel that I have a future athletic child! Do you see that determined look on that child's face. She is unstoppable trying to attack those bubbles! Just think what she will do on the field hockey or lacrosse field. I did hear somewhere that bubble chasing is the gateway to true athletic skills. I am just sayin'....

Then in the next corner we have future math stud..SCOOTER GILLIAM! Scott can whip out chalk and do any math problem known to man. today was addition and multiplication of large numbers. Lacrosse stud in Anna, Math wizzard in Scooter...I think there is a future for these kids. What do you think? Don't worry, I will make sure Scott is always dressed cool (please ignore is crazy bathingsuit, winter shoes, preppy top ensemble) so that he can be the kid who is smart BUT sooo cute! Maybe the girls will like him????

Wii and a day on the town.

Well, I had to share this picture. This is what I would see all day long if I let my son! Scott is obsessed with Wii Mario Cart! I use to love Wii because he was playing tennis and bowling and breaking a sweat. Then he got this for Christmas. Not very active is he? I am not a fan but he loves it. I hope this too shall pass!

Today was a great day for Anna and me. After spending a month in our PJs, we finally got out! We also finally got to play with friends! I am so thankful that Atlee remembered us and would come over and play! Anna had a great time and so did I! I was able to clean up and dust after a month of sitting on the couch watching the dust particles pile up on all of the furniture. It is amazing when you wear PJs so much you think that they are your every day wear!

Anna and I not only got to play with friends..BUT WE GOT TO GO TO TARGET! I think I bought anything that she wanted I was so happy to be out amongst other real adults. It was a nice time and Anna actually stayed in the cart. I think that was because I gave her wahtever she wanted. That might have made a difference. The next Target experience may not be so peachy.

Hello Kitty and Magic Shell

Tonight we introduced the wonderful world of Magic Shell chocolate syrup. I thought that the kids were going to love it and it would be the best treat ever. Scott was so excited to jump in but Anna did not really get into it. She decided she did not want to eat it. So, Dave felt it was his Daddy duty to finish the bowl. It is illegal in most states to NOT eat your dessert!

Anna found her beloved bedazzled Hello Kitty T Shirt. She was very proud to show it off. I am sure you can feel her excitedment from this lovely picture!

It was another day in the sick house!

Last night Anna got up at 12 AM with a tummy bug. We were going to try a new church today but decided to take a sick day and stay home. Scott and Anna had a blast hanging out in their PJs. What a treat! Scott and Daddy decided to work on a Tarheels puzzle while Anna and I worked on one a little bit more our speed. (not a million little tiny pieces!) It was a fun day to hang out at home. We were so wrapped up in church every Sunday that it is nice to take a step back and just be home!

Anna, you are the most amazing sick person I have ever met in my entire life! Last night we heard you cough and wimper a bit so we ran upstairs to find that yes..you had gotten sick in your bed. You were not crying (as I do when I have tummy bugs) and were soo tough! Since you kids are alternating the tummy bug these days, we have a single air matress in our room. When we brought you downstairs, we set you up and Daddy gave you directions to stumble into the bathroom next to your bed and get sick on the floor instead of the bed or carpet. You did it! You got your sweet little self up and stumbled into the bathroom 5x last night. It was so pitiful and so sweet at the same time. Poor girl. You never cried and you were so tough. We were very proud of you because Daddy and I cry like babies when we get this bug..we also pass out! Lets hope you don't have to take care of us any time soon. I am not sure you could drag us back to our beds after we pass out on the bathroom floor!

I do have to say that Scooter is a fantastic sick person as well. Since he is a little older, I did not give him as much credit but I should! Not only did Anna follow the "stumble to the bathroom to get sick rule..but Scott did too!" I think we have our children well trained in the sick department. We are so lucky...
