Here comes Peter Cottontail

We had a super fun day today! The family went to an Easter Egg hunt on Franklin Street in Chapel Hill. The beautiful part about the day is that we actually missed the egg hunt but luckily one of Scott's friends donated a few of his eggs to our eggless children. Evan was so sweet to give up the goods. The kids did not even flinch from missing the actual hunt and jumped into the fun activities of the day. After we went to the hunt, we drove to Nanny and Grandad's new house. We are so excited that they are moving to Chapel Hill and will be closing on the home in a few weeks. Their new house is 2 miles from ours! SO FUN! We can not wait to have them around. I just hope that they like it here.
Tomorrow, we are hoping that the Easter Bunny drops off some goodies for the children! I am pretty sure E-bunny knows where we live...we have our fingers crossed!

Nothing could be finer ....

Then to be in CAROLINA!!

April 6th, 2009
National Champions!

What a fun year for Carolina basketball! This is this is the first year that Scott actually "gets" the sport and this is a FANTASTIC introduction to greatness! This Tar Heel team was favored to win the tournament in the preseason! I have never heard of a team who is favored and who is #1 in the country coming into the season actually fulfill their potential! What an amazing season! I am so thankful that Scott was old enough to watch this season!

Last night, late late at night, we walked up and told Scott that the Tar Heels won the National Championship. He had a 103.5 fever and still jumped up and was as excited as he possibly could be for being so sick. I walked back down stairs to watch the celebration and heard someone walking around upstairs. I went back upstairs and asked Scott if he was alright. He looked at me and said "I am looking for a pencil so I can fill in the last bracket." I almost cried it was so cute. We found a CAROLINA BLUE pen and finished the brackets that he has on the wall. He was shaking from being so sick but determined to have the last line filled with UNC. Such a cute kid!

When Scott woke up this morning, he watched the taped game from front to back. We have a true blue fan and I can not wait for future seasons! Anna is well on her way! Next year she will REALLY get it! I can't wait!

GO HEELS!

Here comes Peter Cottontail.....

I have to say that I have neglected these poor children since birth because I have never introduced the egg dying tradition of Easter. Needless to say, Anna and Scott LOVED it! I will make sure to not deprive them in the future. I guess it really isn't a complete easter without the process of dying the eggs!

C-A-R-O-L-I-N-A

March and April have been super fun for the Carolina basketball fans! I am not going to go into big time detail because we still have one game tonight left of the tournament! All I am going to do is just present Scooter and his new found love! BRACKETS!

We will write more about the tournament when all is said and done tomorrow. I am hoping for a very happy post!

(fingers crossed)

Ribbit Ribbit

Scott and his classmates were on TV this past week! Well..not everyone's TV but the Scroggs intercampus TV. They were so cute and had so much fun being News Anchors. I have to say..I was a proud mommy on the sidelines and I think that Scott would LOVE to do this again. I am guessing that he would want to do the weather because he keeps us updated by the hour at home with what the temps are all over the world. I am so proud of my future, weather guru!

Fancy Nancy ..I mean, Anna.

Today I was weak and allowed Anna to wear whatever she wanted while we went to get my hair cut. Anna came down with not ONE but TWO tutus along with her green gingham
pants and hot pink top. I have to say that Pink and Green are my two favorite color choices and it is even better when they are worn together. She did have that going right..I just wish she had topped it off with a bow. Every true fashionita needs a bow. Either way, she made a true statement at Mina's Studio today. Party on girls!

Numbers

I am guessing this is what everyone wants to do in their spare time. When I have a few minutes to myself..the first thing I think is "wow, wouldn't it be fun to count by 20 up to a gazillion?" Well, if this is the way that you think then Scooter is your man! He loves numhers and tends to get a little carried away with every day simple math fun. This makes me love the kid more and more. I love that THIS is his outside fun chalk activity! I think my game of counting by 20s would have ended at 60.

Avon walk 2009

As everyone who knows me knows....I do the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer. I started this mission in '06 and have not turned back. Although, there are some days that I would love to! We keep moving forward, raising money, forming huge bonds and Walking on...and on...and on.....

The coolest part about all of this, besides the wonderful friendships, is that we have raised over $93,000 since we started! I am very proud of what we have accomplished and love my team the Pink Pacers! I know that my friends would love to make it at least ONE day without hearing about it but I am thick in the training right now and will be able to step away from it for a bit after the first weekend in May!

This weekend, I walked 20 miles for training and am pretty excited about the actual weekend. I just might be ready for the 39.3 mile stroll!
If you have been under a rock and have no idea what I am talking then you may go to this link and read all about us!

Walk on ladies!

Tiny Dancer

Anna has begun what all little girls appear to do at some point in their lives...Ballet. She LOVES it! They get to play "cat and mouse", dress up in fun costumes and then do a "show" for the mommy's at the end of the class. It is one of the highlights of her week. I have to say that there is something about those little pink shoes that make me even want to go back to my childhood and go to Ballet again.

I think Anna's favorite part of the whole class is that she actually gets a stamp on her FOREHEAD. I am not sure that is her mommy's favorite part!

NE14Tennis?

Yes..we have begun a new era in sports! The kids have started taking Tennis lessons. I have to say that it is the cutest thing in the world. I might have to start acting like Venus and Serena's dad! Let the training begin! Everyone on the end line!
The best thing about it is that Anna and Scott get to play together. The 2nd best thing is that the LOVE it! I am so excited to have them out doing fun sporty activities!

Updates gallore!

I guess you could say I have taken a bit of a break. This week, I am going to work on catching the blog up to speed! The month of March was pretty much a soggy one! Finally one day, we were able to see the sun again. It didn't last long but we took advantage of the wonderful day we had!

Scott and Anna have started a new fascination with the jump rope! Scott went from hoping over it one time to hitting his all time high of 33 times! In a week...he figured it out and has not stoped. They even try to jump rope with pillows, clothes, towels...you name it!
