Nothing new to share really...

Things are the same here except for the fact that I do not have to drive all day like I use to! Scott and Anna are out of school for the summer. I am so excited to have freedom to do what we want. We ran around like mad over the past 9 months and I am ready to be settled! I love being home in the mornings and not rushing around. I do get to the gym later, but that is alright.

I am starting Operation Beach Trip! Dave and I are going to our yearly beach trip with my family in July and we want to look awesome. So we are kicking it into higher gear. For some reason, we had a ton of desserts around our house lately. Those are now gone and we are getting back on track. We are really trying to not eat after 8. That is where the bulk of my bad calories tend to come from. I put the kids down for bed and make yummy dessert. If we can keep that in control and continue to workout then we are golden. I have some inches to get rid of. My weight is fine it is the fat around the muscles that drives me batty!

Anyway, that is about all for now.

Oh, Scott is finished with Preschool and officially an Elementary School kid! YAY!

I am such a blogger these days...yay me!

I just wanted to update. Anna is actually sleeping! She is taking a nap and is doing great. The pacies are officially behind us. I love how my girl adapts so well. She is tough as nails! I think reflux babies are just solid when it comes to adapting etc. At least, my little one is. She is so cool. She does drive me nuts but dang if she isn't the sweetest funniest thing ever. Last week, she had the throw ups. She would literally puke forever and then go back to playing. She is just so tough. She never cried even though she threw up all day. That is the kind of girl I want! I really need to go and buy the hockey and lax sticks! Start training now! : )

Scott, on the other hand, is a big ole wendy whiner! Man, it drives me nuts! I think that four year olds lose their ability to use proper verbage..it is more "mooooom, she woooont let me seeeee the T V..sniff ...sniff!" I am like OMG! Figure it out! You are almost FIVE YEARS OLD!

Ok, off to enjoy the quiet house! yipppeeeee!

Pacies be gone!

Well, we are on night 2 with no pacies. Last night Anna took about 2 1/2 hours to go to sleep and Dave ended up sleeping in there. She did finally do it but it took some coaxing. I questioned myself a little bit about if this was the right thing but I really feel like it is time. Her teeth are soooo messed up from them and I wanted to nip it in the bud because it got really really bad. It is something that I have been dreading and I am so glad I am in night two of this! Anna did not nap today which sucked but she went done awesomely tonight! Sooo, that is a big step! I am proud of her. She is a cool kid. When we moved her from the crib to the big girl bed, she fought it for about 2 days and then settled right back into her routine. I hope the same thing happends here. She drives me nuts but she is cool!

Today we were reading some books and she started pointing out letters! It was so cute. "look mommy, there is an M." I did not think that she cared about that stuff at all and she totally has taken in some of it! YAY! I think that she is just the cutest crazies thing there is.

Below are our updates..this was just a short one!

Updates on us!

You know. I just had the best day. We went to the gym, took the kids to the park. I got to go to the grocery store by myself! Then we had a birthday party at our neighbors house which turned into a pizza party with drinks that night. The kids just had a blast..I had a blast and I just LOVE my neighborhood. The way the houses are set up..it really enables you to be social and do things like inpromptu (sp) playdates and cookouts. It is a really heaven for me. I also was able to get a pedicure today! HURRAY! SO fun! I have my 15 year high school reunion next weekend and needed one badly.

Ok, time for updates.

Anna is full throdle. She speaks in full sentences, sprints every where she goes and is non stop energy. I need to go and buy her a field hockey and lacrosse stick and try and start teaching her fun sports. She is high energy and always skins her poor knees. She also finally knows her alphabet and can count to 30! I think she might even know colors now. Well, maybe the main ones. I don't think that she will be like Scott but at least she is learning some things. I was getting a little nervous for a while thinking she might be color blind or something. Everything was green for a while there. It was really funny! Scott annoys the crap out of her all the time trying to teach her things. Every morning over the monitor you hear him trying. It is really funny. It cracks me up every time. She also loves to sing and can tell you what some instruments are. I think it is from her "teacher" brother but it is still cool. I am not saying that she is brilliant by any means. She has just shown no signs of actually wanting to know things and it appears to be happening a bit more now. So yay Anna! I still am holding out for her to by my athelete!

Scooter....you know some days I think that things will be fine and he really isn't what every one says that he is. I think how there are a ton of smart kids out there and this is just not a big deal and then BAM, he does something that blows me away. Dave taught him division the other day in the car on the way to school. He taught him how to do it verbally and Scott just rolled with it. Scott will say "ok mom, I have 40 cookies and there are four of us in the family. How many cookies will each of us need to make sure we all have the same amount." I will say "I don't know....2?" He will say "NOPE, 10!" Are you kidding me? Is my 4 year old really doing division problems in his head by way of word problems etc???? Um, really? What am I suppose to do when he goes to kindergarten and when they say "your child will be counting to 30 by the end of the year." Do I say "by 30s or up to 30?" We really have our work cut out for us. Scott has been reading since he was 2 1/2-3 years old. You guys have heard all of this..it just freaks me out when my kid is doing things as a 4 year old that I got held back in 3rd grade for.
-Multiplication
-spelling
-reading
-word problems
-addition/subtraction by multiple numbers
-rounding off
-counting by 2s, 3s, 4s, 10s, 25s etc
-money
-geography

What am I going to do with him next year?? Can his needs really be met? I know we moved to Chapel Hill because they are the best in the state for this stuff. I know that they will help us along with his psychologist but when you really think about it..it will freak you out. It is a huge responsibility for us as parents to make sure he is happy and content. The boy does workbook pages from a 2nd and 3rd grade work book for fun.

I have no idea what is going to happen but I do have a few wishes. I really hope that he continues to love learning. I really hope that he continues to be a nice boy and be kind to others and not boss people around because he knows things that other kids have not learned yet. I sooo hope that he stays humble. We work really hard on this stuff and I hope he is able to do this when we are not around. I also hope that he is able to be fullfilled and continue to want to push himself and learn things because it is a huge gift. What he does is a gift and I just hope that he does not waist it when he grows up. That is one of my big time fears. Ok, once again it is the Scott's show. It is just completely mind boggling at times. It really blows me away...

Dave - he looks fantastic. He has lost 45 lbs since Scott was born. He is so cute I can't even stand it. I do not have a picture of him and need to take one. I will do that soon. I have one picture but I can not save it to my computer. It is from his last 10K race. I love it! Also, Dave will sing in his last wedding that is planned at the end of May. He is doing the full mass and singing 9 songs along with Ave Maria..O M G! I am going to ball listening to him do it. He is so talented and it blows me away every time. I just love it. I wish so much that I could record it.

Me- I am the same. I struggle with the last lbs but don't go 100%. I mainly just want to tone what I have and be happy with it. I love my friends around here and stay super busy. I am almost finished with some church stuff..yay...tomorrow is my last day. That will give me a bit of a breather. I am one of the Youth Directors and we have our last event tomorrow. What else... I am running again! I guess i don't have much else to say about me. I pray every day that I will not lose patience with Anna. My back is spasming because she is so defiant. I think that is about it. love to all!

Long time no write..huh?

I have no idea how to make the pictures so that they are under this post. Read down to understand what the pictures are for! : )

Well, I guess I am on the once a month cycle here. I feel like my life is super boring to read about so it is hard to think of things to write. We got to tour Scott's new school last week. We were super excited and think that we have made the absolute best decision for him and for our family by coming to Chapel Hill. The school is going to be great. (we hope) Every day I think..MAN, I LOVE MY NEIGHBORHOOD! It just could not be any more fun. We have 7 playgrounds, a market place where we can walk up and get ice cream, pizza, there is a book store, movie theater etc. It is just like being in Pleasantville. Everyone lives pretty close together which makes you come out and be social. It has really gotten us out of our house more and made us much more active as a family. It also has helped me meet some amazing people that my kids get to grow up with. I just feel so lucky. Go to http://www.southernvillage.com/ to get an idea. It is just freaking awesome!

Scott is waaaaay excited about the next step for school. He can not wait to go. We went and talked to his psychologist the other day to give us an idea of how to make sure we meet his needs. I love Dr. Riddle. It is one of the only times we get to just sit there and talk about all the things that Scott can do. We rarely ever do that because there is no reason too and how annoying would THAT be! OMG, People would run! Anyway, he gave us some great advice. He is going to write the principle of the school to kind of give him a heads up about Scott. In the early years of Elementary school, they do not do much in the form of programatic stuff. At least, not in Kindergarten. When Scott gets into 3rd or 4th grade is when the "Leap Program" will start. If Scott tests into it then he will be put into a self contained classroom with other students like him. I know that sounds strange and not fun but for Scott, it would be best. Right now he is doing workbooks for 2nd grade and tells me they are easy. I am screwed! Do you know that I got held back in 3rd grade for multiplication and my freaking 4 1/2 year old can do that??? How embarassing, really. I mean, I got held back in school for that stuff! It just cracks me up. My friends who were friends with me in middle and high school just laugh when they see Scott. They think it is freaking crazy that I , Katy McCartney, have the smart kid. I should have the wild and ADD kid! Anyway, things are gong great with him and we are so excited for next year. I can not wait to get him out of preschool.

Thank goodness my little Anna is adorable! She is so strong willed that she puts Dave and I in fits. I try to stay very patient but it is so hard with her. She is a cool kid but man is she going to be a trouble maker. She has learned how to work the system already. I think she has the social smarts that we had to teach to Scott! : ) She is so funny! She cracks me up daily. Last night I walked into the family room and she had rolled up my 8 x 10 wool rug. It was half way rolled and she was sitting on the padding watching Dora. Umm, you weigh all of 26 lbs and you did that?? She is so freaking strong. I am buying that child a field hockey and lacrosse stick ASAP! I think she will be my little athlete! I love it!

Still around

This last month went by so fast. I am in shock that it is already Feb. That is just craziness. Last week marked 21 years since my sister passed away. I can not believe that it has been that long. That is just insane. She would be 39 now if she were still alive. That would be so cool to still have another sister but it is what it is. I had a few of my old friends email me on her anniversary. It was so nice to have them remember. One of the people I had not talked to in 15 years pretty much.

Anyway, a lot is happening this year. I feel like we are busy and running around all the time. I seriously thought my life would calm down soon but it just hasn't. I think the main thing is that Scott and Anna go to school in the next city over. I find myself in the car from 8:30-1 every day. It is quite irritating and I can not wait until Scott is in Kindergarten. I am trying to get Anna into the preschool in our neighborhood too. I really hope it works out because that would mean that I could actually be home more! I would also feel like I was on top of things a bit more being able to be home. I feel like I get home at 1 and am just exhausted. I am also trying to find things to pass the time away and end up spending money. I go to the gym, go to target..run errands etc. If I don't go to the gym, then I could come home but it is just too much back and forth all day. Anyway, I find out if Anna gets in next week. I am dying to know!

I did pretty well with my ebay sales this season. I am winding down from that and have pretty much spent most of it on Anna's clothes and household stuff. It is amazing how fast you can spend money. I need to learn how to save more!

Dave and I have been trying to lose weight. He has kicked ass and I have stayed about the same. I think I am going to change my goals to inches instead of actual weight. I need to lose a few inches here and there to get back to where I was after Scott was born and I lost all that weight. That really is my goal. I just need to get the doctor to clear me for running and then I am golden. That isn't going to happen for a few more months so I need to workout other ways to get this started. I am kind of in a rut...so Dave is helping me get out of it. I need to make a few small goals and if I can complete them in 2 months then he is going to give me some money to shop on my girls weekend in the mnts! So, I think I am going to say that I need to follow weight watchers strictly, drink my water, and go to the gym at least 4x a week. This is all in hopes to lose a few inches and not so much be a slave to the scale. I think those will be my 2 month goals starting tomorrow. I already go to the gym that much so that isn't hard! YAY! It is just the other stuff that i need to really work on. I have a hard time sticking to WW religiously. I should be able to do anything for 2 months. right?

Anyway, this is a pretty boring blog. I have not written in a while so I decided to jump on while I had some time. I don't think that much else is going on besides just busy life stuff. : )
