Updates on us!

You know. I just had the best day. We went to the gym, took the kids to the park. I got to go to the grocery store by myself! Then we had a birthday party at our neighbors house which turned into a pizza party with drinks that night. The kids just had a blast..I had a blast and I just LOVE my neighborhood. The way the houses are set up..it really enables you to be social and do things like inpromptu (sp) playdates and cookouts. It is a really heaven for me. I also was able to get a pedicure today! HURRAY! SO fun! I have my 15 year high school reunion next weekend and needed one badly.

Ok, time for updates.

Anna is full throdle. She speaks in full sentences, sprints every where she goes and is non stop energy. I need to go and buy her a field hockey and lacrosse stick and try and start teaching her fun sports. She is high energy and always skins her poor knees. She also finally knows her alphabet and can count to 30! I think she might even know colors now. Well, maybe the main ones. I don't think that she will be like Scott but at least she is learning some things. I was getting a little nervous for a while thinking she might be color blind or something. Everything was green for a while there. It was really funny! Scott annoys the crap out of her all the time trying to teach her things. Every morning over the monitor you hear him trying. It is really funny. It cracks me up every time. She also loves to sing and can tell you what some instruments are. I think it is from her "teacher" brother but it is still cool. I am not saying that she is brilliant by any means. She has just shown no signs of actually wanting to know things and it appears to be happening a bit more now. So yay Anna! I still am holding out for her to by my athelete!

Scooter....you know some days I think that things will be fine and he really isn't what every one says that he is. I think how there are a ton of smart kids out there and this is just not a big deal and then BAM, he does something that blows me away. Dave taught him division the other day in the car on the way to school. He taught him how to do it verbally and Scott just rolled with it. Scott will say "ok mom, I have 40 cookies and there are four of us in the family. How many cookies will each of us need to make sure we all have the same amount." I will say "I don't know....2?" He will say "NOPE, 10!" Are you kidding me? Is my 4 year old really doing division problems in his head by way of word problems etc???? Um, really? What am I suppose to do when he goes to kindergarten and when they say "your child will be counting to 30 by the end of the year." Do I say "by 30s or up to 30?" We really have our work cut out for us. Scott has been reading since he was 2 1/2-3 years old. You guys have heard all of this..it just freaks me out when my kid is doing things as a 4 year old that I got held back in 3rd grade for.
-Multiplication
-spelling
-reading
-word problems
-addition/subtraction by multiple numbers
-rounding off
-counting by 2s, 3s, 4s, 10s, 25s etc
-money
-geography

What am I going to do with him next year?? Can his needs really be met? I know we moved to Chapel Hill because they are the best in the state for this stuff. I know that they will help us along with his psychologist but when you really think about it..it will freak you out. It is a huge responsibility for us as parents to make sure he is happy and content. The boy does workbook pages from a 2nd and 3rd grade work book for fun.

I have no idea what is going to happen but I do have a few wishes. I really hope that he continues to love learning. I really hope that he continues to be a nice boy and be kind to others and not boss people around because he knows things that other kids have not learned yet. I sooo hope that he stays humble. We work really hard on this stuff and I hope he is able to do this when we are not around. I also hope that he is able to be fullfilled and continue to want to push himself and learn things because it is a huge gift. What he does is a gift and I just hope that he does not waist it when he grows up. That is one of my big time fears. Ok, once again it is the Scott's show. It is just completely mind boggling at times. It really blows me away...

Dave - he looks fantastic. He has lost 45 lbs since Scott was born. He is so cute I can't even stand it. I do not have a picture of him and need to take one. I will do that soon. I have one picture but I can not save it to my computer. It is from his last 10K race. I love it! Also, Dave will sing in his last wedding that is planned at the end of May. He is doing the full mass and singing 9 songs along with Ave Maria..O M G! I am going to ball listening to him do it. He is so talented and it blows me away every time. I just love it. I wish so much that I could record it.

Me- I am the same. I struggle with the last lbs but don't go 100%. I mainly just want to tone what I have and be happy with it. I love my friends around here and stay super busy. I am almost finished with some church stuff..yay...tomorrow is my last day. That will give me a bit of a breather. I am one of the Youth Directors and we have our last event tomorrow. What else... I am running again! I guess i don't have much else to say about me. I pray every day that I will not lose patience with Anna. My back is spasming because she is so defiant. I think that is about it. love to all!

Long time no write..huh?

I have no idea how to make the pictures so that they are under this post. Read down to understand what the pictures are for! : )

Well, I guess I am on the once a month cycle here. I feel like my life is super boring to read about so it is hard to think of things to write. We got to tour Scott's new school last week. We were super excited and think that we have made the absolute best decision for him and for our family by coming to Chapel Hill. The school is going to be great. (we hope) Every day I think..MAN, I LOVE MY NEIGHBORHOOD! It just could not be any more fun. We have 7 playgrounds, a market place where we can walk up and get ice cream, pizza, there is a book store, movie theater etc. It is just like being in Pleasantville. Everyone lives pretty close together which makes you come out and be social. It has really gotten us out of our house more and made us much more active as a family. It also has helped me meet some amazing people that my kids get to grow up with. I just feel so lucky. Go to http://www.southernvillage.com/ to get an idea. It is just freaking awesome!

Scott is waaaaay excited about the next step for school. He can not wait to go. We went and talked to his psychologist the other day to give us an idea of how to make sure we meet his needs. I love Dr. Riddle. It is one of the only times we get to just sit there and talk about all the things that Scott can do. We rarely ever do that because there is no reason too and how annoying would THAT be! OMG, People would run! Anyway, he gave us some great advice. He is going to write the principle of the school to kind of give him a heads up about Scott. In the early years of Elementary school, they do not do much in the form of programatic stuff. At least, not in Kindergarten. When Scott gets into 3rd or 4th grade is when the "Leap Program" will start. If Scott tests into it then he will be put into a self contained classroom with other students like him. I know that sounds strange and not fun but for Scott, it would be best. Right now he is doing workbooks for 2nd grade and tells me they are easy. I am screwed! Do you know that I got held back in 3rd grade for multiplication and my freaking 4 1/2 year old can do that??? How embarassing, really. I mean, I got held back in school for that stuff! It just cracks me up. My friends who were friends with me in middle and high school just laugh when they see Scott. They think it is freaking crazy that I , Katy McCartney, have the smart kid. I should have the wild and ADD kid! Anyway, things are gong great with him and we are so excited for next year. I can not wait to get him out of preschool.

Thank goodness my little Anna is adorable! She is so strong willed that she puts Dave and I in fits. I try to stay very patient but it is so hard with her. She is a cool kid but man is she going to be a trouble maker. She has learned how to work the system already. I think she has the social smarts that we had to teach to Scott! : ) She is so funny! She cracks me up daily. Last night I walked into the family room and she had rolled up my 8 x 10 wool rug. It was half way rolled and she was sitting on the padding watching Dora. Umm, you weigh all of 26 lbs and you did that?? She is so freaking strong. I am buying that child a field hockey and lacrosse stick ASAP! I think she will be my little athlete! I love it!

Still around

This last month went by so fast. I am in shock that it is already Feb. That is just craziness. Last week marked 21 years since my sister passed away. I can not believe that it has been that long. That is just insane. She would be 39 now if she were still alive. That would be so cool to still have another sister but it is what it is. I had a few of my old friends email me on her anniversary. It was so nice to have them remember. One of the people I had not talked to in 15 years pretty much.

Anyway, a lot is happening this year. I feel like we are busy and running around all the time. I seriously thought my life would calm down soon but it just hasn't. I think the main thing is that Scott and Anna go to school in the next city over. I find myself in the car from 8:30-1 every day. It is quite irritating and I can not wait until Scott is in Kindergarten. I am trying to get Anna into the preschool in our neighborhood too. I really hope it works out because that would mean that I could actually be home more! I would also feel like I was on top of things a bit more being able to be home. I feel like I get home at 1 and am just exhausted. I am also trying to find things to pass the time away and end up spending money. I go to the gym, go to target..run errands etc. If I don't go to the gym, then I could come home but it is just too much back and forth all day. Anyway, I find out if Anna gets in next week. I am dying to know!

I did pretty well with my ebay sales this season. I am winding down from that and have pretty much spent most of it on Anna's clothes and household stuff. It is amazing how fast you can spend money. I need to learn how to save more!

Dave and I have been trying to lose weight. He has kicked ass and I have stayed about the same. I think I am going to change my goals to inches instead of actual weight. I need to lose a few inches here and there to get back to where I was after Scott was born and I lost all that weight. That really is my goal. I just need to get the doctor to clear me for running and then I am golden. That isn't going to happen for a few more months so I need to workout other ways to get this started. I am kind of in a rut...so Dave is helping me get out of it. I need to make a few small goals and if I can complete them in 2 months then he is going to give me some money to shop on my girls weekend in the mnts! So, I think I am going to say that I need to follow weight watchers strictly, drink my water, and go to the gym at least 4x a week. This is all in hopes to lose a few inches and not so much be a slave to the scale. I think those will be my 2 month goals starting tomorrow. I already go to the gym that much so that isn't hard! YAY! It is just the other stuff that i need to really work on. I have a hard time sticking to WW religiously. I should be able to do anything for 2 months. right?

Anyway, this is a pretty boring blog. I have not written in a while so I decided to jump on while I had some time. I don't think that much else is going on besides just busy life stuff. : )

I am awful.

How bad was I being so bummed about the kids not going to Charlottesville tomorrow. They are going to go on Friday but man, that was mean. Scott has been so sick all day. He has had about 104 temp with horrible strep throat. Poor kid. He was wimpered through the day. So now I have to come back on here to say I am not a horrible mother. I just had a selfish moment today. I hope Scott feels better tomorrow because today was so pitiful. Poor kid.

Tis the season for sickies

Anna spiked a high fever on Sunday night randomly. I kept her home for two days and she bounced back pretty fast. Then today I get a call about Scott. He was really weak when I went to go and pick him up from school. Poor kid. He was lying on their cot in the office looking so pale and sick. I think he might have strep. You know what the selfishly sucky thing about all this is. My parents are suppose to take the kids for the whole weekend! Dave is singing is a wedding this weekend here and we needed too many babysitters to cover all the events. So we asked my parents. Of couse everyone gets sick and it is suppose to snow. I am thinking and HOPING this is strep and he will be back on his feet in no time. I know, I am totally selfish..but come on..A WHOLE WEEKEND TO MYSELF! Ok, I need to go love on my little kiddo. He is pretty pitiful and I feel so bad for him.

Ok, enough babbling! More later!

I am still here

These pictures are of Anna pouting in her lizajane baby. I wrote about the clothes at the bottom of the blog. I love her pout...poor Anna!
I have been knee deep in my Ebay sales! I have sold about 36 things and made $1,000! I am freaking excited! I have a few more things to sell and then I will be finished until the July Fall sales. I love making money off of Anna's clothes. I do spend a lot on them but it is so nice to get almost all of that money back! I go to an outlet around here called Patsy Aiken. I buy Anna her cute play clothes and get paid more reselling them then what I paid in the first place. My child gets PAID to look cute! I have to say, I LOVE having her dressed up all the time. I love that she sees her bows and says "That is my bow!" I am training her well..huh? I love that she has as many smocked dresses as she does play clothes. I love that her play clothes are not T shirts! They are all cutesy stuff. What I love even more is that I can almost get my money back when I resell them! I have been making around $30 and $40 on her smocked dresses. They cost around $60! So that is not bad at all. Anyway, Ebay has allowed me to buy whatever the hell I want for Anna. I freaking love it. Who knew I would love children's clothes so much.

Since we are talking Children's clothes, I am still working with lizajane baby. Liza and I had a huge fight when the season ended but things worked themselves out. Well, she finally admitted I was right. We have known each other since we were 12 so when we have a huge fight..it doesn't mean it is all over but it does mean that bad things were said. She was pretty mean to me and I was pretty hard on her. She is not use to me being very businessy and when I played that card, it pissed her off. I am usually the "party flighty not mature girl" and she has always been the " clean house, smart, save money" kind of person. It rocked her world when I became the mature one. I guess our roles switched a bit. She was overloaded with orders and I was down her throat to be professional etc. It did not go over well for me but she finally admitted that she needs to rework her business side of things and has decided to take a season off from home shows. We are going to have Open Houses but will not do custom clothes. We really need to get our background stuff stronger to be able to handle the $10,000 in sales that we had. It was amazing to sell that much but it sucked when things got backlogged. We worked our asses off but there were not enough of us to meet the damand on time. Soooo, we are regrouping. I am sure I made no sense but I tried to explain something that was very very complicated. I just know I love her stuff. It is fantastic. It is all that Scott wears and Anna wears it to. I know that when my children' have her clothes on, we get stopped every 5 steps with someone gushing over it. I just hope that we can figure out how to do the background part of it. It will be get so much easier when our kids are in school. It is hard to have a full time job with your kids jumping all over you all day. Liza's kids are 2 highly active boys. They do not let her breath by herself more or less sew. Also, her husband does nothing to help. He traveled non stop last fall and it KILLED us trying to get our orders complete. Things will change...you can only learn!

I might try and download some pics... For some reason, they always end up at the top.
Off to bed. My blog is so dull....
