You gotta have friends!

This might be one of my new favorite traditions. I met Sonja as soon as we moved into Southern Village. In the first few months of knowing each other, she was ohhh so kind and invited us to the beach for a day or two. We knew it was ment to be because our day or two ended up being a 3 or 4! We had so much fun. This year was our 3rd trip to Topsail! I am so thankful that she liked us enough to continue inviting us! We are so lucky to have such great friends in this neighborhood. I could not be happier!
This trip was just Anna and me. Scott had to go to big kid school, so the girls skipped town for a few days. We had a wonderful time. Anna realized that she absolutely LOVED the beach, but not the birds so much. Sonja and I may have had a small issue with a few seagulls. We almost had a smack down. Anna did not find their close contact very amusing. It is tragic that we did not get a picture or video of the debacle. Lets just say it had to do with triscuits, sonja waving the shovel above my head flinging sand (there evidently was a seagull a foot above me ready to kill), children being shooed to hide under the crosswalk with their little faces peaking out, Katy trying to work on her fencing skills with the shovel trying to get the persistant seagulls to go away. I am not sure what was going on but it was just down right crazy!
I know this is a confusing post but oh my gosh..it was the funniest experience I have ever had. I was literally having a staring contest at one point with a seagull that was literally a few feet from my head! He was hanging in mid air, wings out and full blown STARING me down! You would have thought I had bait right on my head.
It was bizzare, to say the least.
I guess you had to be there..huh?

Sonja and Atlee were so kind to think of Anna when they saw this gorgeous hair piece. I am not so sad that it has accidently gotten lost.
Aren't they cute in their matching cover ups though??
