Kickin' it old school

Some might say I was a stud. I think the evidence is all here in this handy dandy picture! Yes, I was the star of the YBA team. I was in 5th grade and wore red converse high tops! You might say I was cooler then cool. Brace yourself for what you are about to see. Yep, that is me...right in the middle with braces and rope bracelets. I was rockin!

Vail!

Dave suprised me this year with a trip to Vail! We went with Ben and Jason and had an absolute blast! The kids had fun too! They got to spend the weekend with Nannie and Grandad and were completely spoiled. Scott came home with an old laptop all for himself! (well, and for Anna but he doesn't agree with that) They had a blast and so did we! Dave and the boys skiied while I went to the gym and got 2 massages! Can we say niiiiiiice! It made it better knowing the Scott and Anna were having so much fun. They went out to eat almost every meal, watched TV, and played games. Who wouldn't love that?

It SNOWED and we have a new President!

We were so excited to wake up last week to find a blanket of snow outside. It was a beautiful day. Not only was it the day that Barack Obama was being sworn in as our next President, but it snowed! It was amazing to wach the the events unfold as we swore in our first African American President. I would love to sound poetic but I have to say that it was just AWESOME! Anna and Scott had no idea the weight of the event. It was truley a time in history that I will remember forever. i still can not believe that AMERICA voted for a young African American President. I never thought I would see that in my lifetime! And to think, NC went Democratic in their voting just blows my mind!

I have pictures to share! (of course!) What a fun day on all levels! SNOW AND OBAMA!

There were over 2 million people in DC to see this. Aretha Franklin opened with her bog hat and the National Anthem.

Wow..I have been a slacker!

We have had a fantastic January and now it is coming to an end! I am going to have to break the blogs up into different posts to be able to update with pictures and events!

For New Years we went to the mountains with Ben and Jason! We all had a great time. Scott loved being able to bake bread with Ben. It is very different then the way mommy bakes. Ben actually makes things from SCRATCH! Ahhh, it is a new world when you are with friends that can actually cook. It puts our frozen lasagnas and pizza to shame when we go on vacation. It was such a fun New Years weekend. We were all lazy, ate a lot and laughed even more. Good friends are so fun!

If you keep whining....

Today the kids were asked to get in the car so we could run and errand. Dave was locking the door and heard Scott frustrated with Anna. Dave heard "Anna, if you keep whining, I am going to pack my things up and move to a new home. That home will be house number 633!" Dave and I about lost it! It was soooo funny!

i know, it may not be as funny as it was when we heard it but MAN..that is comedy!

More updates to come. I have been LAZY!

Christmas Week in Pictures!

I am not sure I need to write a ton because they are all self explanitory! We had a wonderful Christmas week. Monday we decorated cookies at the Carolina Inn with Max, A-K and Maggie. Fun was had by all, as always! On Tuesday we had a low key day to get prepared for the big holiday! On Christmas Eve we headed to Wilson to play with all our cousins! We had so much fun! On Christmas morning we hung out here and opened presents and then headed to Holy Springs to hang out with the Rawles and Grammy and Papaw. It was awesome! Everyone had the best Christmas ever!

Pageant

We had the best time at the pageant this year. The church decided to move the date to the Sunday before Christmas and it made our life so much easier. It use to be on Christmas Eve so this was so much better. Another fun thing about this year was that Anna got to be in the pageant AND Scott wore his costume for the first time! This was his 3rd year in the pageant and he never ever wanted to wear the shepherd costume. We have come a LONG way!

I was so proud of the kiddos. Scott was a shephard again and Anna was an angel. The funniest part was that Anna started on the far left of the pageant and decided that she wanted to be in the middle. She looked down the line of Angels towards Mary and Joseph and proceeded to move her little self over to the middle. It was fantastic! I laughed so hard and loved it because Scott did the same thing in his first pageant. Anna knew all the words of the songs and was so cute with her little voice singing. Scott and Anna did the cutest job! We were very proud and loved every minute of it!
