Anna's Christmas Party

Anna and I went to her preschool Christmas Party this morning. We got to make rice krispy snowmen and Anna's turned into a snow blob by the end. She loved making the snowman. (and eating the poor guy!) A fun time was had by all!

Choir Solos and Breakfast with Santa

On Friday night Dave and Scott were in a Christmas Concert at church. My parents came to see the event! We love that Scott may have some of the same talents as Dave and has already been asked to sing 2 solos thus far. The first one was "All Things Bright and Beautiful' when he was almost 5. The 2nd one was this past weekend and then Chritmas Eve. He is singing the first verse of "Once in Royal David's City." It is a gorgeous song and the neat thing is that Scott sings the first verse with the adult choir (including Daddy) surrounding him and then they join in for the following verses. It is a tear jerker, that is for sure. Dave teared up just looking at the program for the concert. It said Scott Gilliam - Boy Soprano. I think Dave need to man up! Just kidding! :) He was so proud it was oozing out of him. I just bought a new video camera so I could get this on tape Christmas Eve.

Then on Saturday, we all went to have breakfast with Santa at the Carolina Inn. It was such a fun event for all! They had delicious food and even had a short table so the children could get their own food. We still helped them though! Santa was there and it was such a joy seeing them talk to him! He told Scott that he remembered when Scott was a little baby! Scott was shocked. The pictures below are of their long converstaions with Santa. Evidently, Scott would like musical instruments and Anna would like to have a baby doll with a purple dress. Does she know that purple is my least favorite color of all??? I am sure she does!

It is beginning to look a lot like Christmas

We had a lot of fun decorating our tree! Anna and Scott loved going through the ornaments and trying to remember where each one came from. They don't have that much history decorating trees so there were not that many that they remembered. They do, however, remember the ginger bread man that Scott made in preschool when he was 3 and then Angle that Scott made out of his hand prints. I hope we are able to keep them in tact for the years to come! I might need to invest in a lamanating machine!

Here are our pictures of the finished product. For some reason, Anna keeps finding random ornaments around the house and continues to add them to the tree. The bottom is full of multicolored balls. I guess you can never have to many!

Turkey Day and Birthdays!

This year we went to Blowing Rock for Thanksgiving. Fun was had by all! I think we ate everything in sight as well. The kids loved the little bit of snow that was around the mountain and were able to get a glimpse of Santa in the park! It was a super fun time and we can not wait to go back up there over New Years.

We got back to Chapel Hill just in time to celebrate Anna's 3rd birthday. Sometimes I can't believe she is already three and other times we wonder how she is not 15! She had a fantastic day filled with presents, seeing Grammy and Papaw and ending it with her first Carolina game at the Dean Dome! The kids LOVED it! We might take them back in a few weeks.

Now we are on to the Holiday season! The kids love listening to Christmas music and are having fun playing with all the decorations that we have around the house. It is nice that Anna and Scott are at the ages where they can play together. I can honestly say that I think they love each other!

Anna is turning 3!

Happy Birthday to our little Anna! She turns 3 this Sunday but we had the party today. It was so cute and fun! Anna had 10 of her friends over for a short little party. They ate pizza, cup cakes and had a pinata! It was just a fun day for all.

Portrait!

We decided to get a portrait done of Anna and Scott this year. Cathy Tellefsen is an amazing artist that takes the time to make sure your portrait is perfect! She came to our house and took tons of pictures. Then we got to pick out every piece of the pictures that we liked and combined them to make the best look. In one picture, I liked Scott's hair, in another his nose ..etc. It is awesome! We went to go and look at the portrait this week and tweaked a few things to make the kids look more like themselves. It was cool watching her do small changes that make huge differences in ther faces! So talented! I was so lucky to have the option for her to tweak it! Anyway, I get it tomorrow and it is huge! It will go above our fireplace and I am just so excited to get it in the house.

Leaves and Choir

Scott had his first Choir Concert this weekend. He was very excited and did a great job! Dave was asked to sing with the children. Luckily, Dave did not have to wear the cupcake collar! Although, I am sure he would!

Anna had a great time helping Dave rake leaves. For some reason she thought being in the trash can was the best part.
